You don’t have to live in unpleasantness. We have solutions!

What Is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

It’s important that you understand what vaginal rejuvenation does and the treatments available. These are surgical or non-invasive procedures that correct issues in the vaginal canal typically caused by hormones, aging and damage from childbirth.

If you’ve experienced one or more of those situations, you might be a good candidate. You’ll want to decide if you should opt for surgery or a non-invasive procedure.

Is Surgery the Best Vaginal Rejuvenation Option?

Each candidate must consult with their doctor about which options fit their circumstances best. Surgical vaginal rejuvenation is a more dramatic tightening of the vaginal canal, with recovery that requires up to six weeks of limited activity.

Of course, you may prefer a newer, non-invasive laser procedure created to treat deep inside the vaginal tissue and pelvic floor to stimulate collagen and elastin growth.

Here at California Dermatology Care, we’re proud to offer V-Lase®, a safe, non-invasive treatment that improves vaginal laxity, dryness, recurring urinary and vaginal infections and involuntary bladder leakage with a quick recovery time.

Many patients report having no pain and an added benefit of choosing V-Lase over surgery is the avoidance of complications like infection or prolonged tissue healing.

Of course, as mentioned at the outset, V-Lase also restores your intimate life by improving the youthfulness of your vaginal wall, pelvic floor and vulva.

To best determine whether you should choose surgery or a non-invasive therapy such as V-Lase, you and your doctor should decide on the correct procedure for you after considering all options.

When Should You Have a Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatment?

Can you exercise, jump, cough or sneeze without peeing? Vaginal rejuvenation allows you to carry out a normal lifestyle and reverse the situation, re-establish a healthier vagina with improved hydration and lubrication, tighten your vaginal canal, give greater urinary control and improve sexual gratification.

These are some of the terms for what you might be experiencing:

Vaginal Atrophy – Tissues lining the inside of the vagina become thin, dry and inflamed due to a decrease in estrogen.

Vaginal Laxity – Vaginal looseness that typically develops after pregnancy and delivery. It may be further affected by prior pelvic surgery, menopause and aging.

Stress Urinary Incontinence – Stress incontinence is involuntary bladder leakage that happens with typical movement or activity such as coughing, laughing, sneezing, running or heavy lifting puts pressure on your bladder. Stress incontinence isn’t related to psychological stress.

Vaginal Dryness – This affects women of any age when vaginal tissues are dry, thin and insufficiently moisturized. It’s very uncomfortable, especially during intercourse. It’s most common in women or people assigned female at birth during or after menopause due to declining estrogen levels.

How Long Do the Results of a V-Lase® Procedure Last?

Great news, after just one treatment you will see some improvement with best results seen after the full set of three treatments over six weeks.

Just like with any corrective procedures, maintenance is required to enjoy the results as long as possible. It’s recommended that you return every 12 – 24 months for a touch-up.

Full expectations of your results cannot be promised, but you can ask your doctor during your consultation what range of expectations you can prepare for in your particular case.

What Can You Expect After V-Lase?

Depending on your body, you may notice positive changes anywhere from immediately after treatment to within two weeks, with optimal results within six months.

Most likely you will be able to return to work, resume your normal lifestyle and engage in improved sex life immediately with no restrictions. Most women have reported feeling better, having less to zero incontinence and enjoying sex more.

We will take all possible measures during the treatment to ensure your highest level of comfort, but it doesn’t require anesthesia or medication. V-Lase is a pain-free procedure, keeping in mind that each patient’s tissue type, sensitivity and propensity for healing play a role in the amount of heat you might feel.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients only need one treatment for life. Discuss your recommendations and expectations with our certified dermatologist, Dr. William Ting, by calling us at (925) 328-0255.

Will my sexual partner notice a difference?

If you’re enjoying yourself more, your partner will notice. Are there other procedures I should consider simultaneously for the best results?

EMSELLA may complement a V-Lase procedure for incontinence therapy. EMSELLA is a treatment that uses technology that targets and strengthens your pelvic floor muscles.

When Can I Have Sex After My V-Lase Treatment?

Your doctor will be more specific with you based on your individual experience. However, we typically recommend zero restrictions to resuming intercourse immediatley. If you experience prolonged sensitivity or pain during sex, contact your doctor.

What if I give birth naturally after vaginal rejuvenation?

Results or how long they might last are never guaranteed. Many patients can enjoy their vaginal rejuvenation results for the long-term, but the pressure of a new vaginal delivery causes more stretching. In that case, you can ask your medical practitioner if or when to have another procedure.
