The Ellacor Treatment Process

A typical Ellacor session lasts about 60-90 minutes, depending on the treatment areas. Before your treatment begins, a topical numbing cream and Lidocaine with Epinephrine injections are applied to ensure your comfort.

You’ll feel the Ellacor device moving across your skin during the procedure. While you may experience some pressure or mild discomfort, most patients find the procedure quite tolerable. You might feel a slight pinching or tugging sensation as the micro-cores are removed, which some patients describe as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. 

After the treatment, your skin may look red and slightly swollen, similar to a sunburn. Expect significant bruising between days 2-4. Some, but not all, patients feel comfortable being out in public after 5 days with light makeup on. To conclude the session, your practitioner will apply a soothing ointment and provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to ensure optimal healing and results.

At California Dermatology Care, we offer a special recipe using topical adjunctive PRP (platelet-rich plasma). This optional treatment is highly recommended to augment clinical benefits, reduce downtime and minimize post-treatment redness and pigmentation.
